A Very Special Friend

Julie - What can I possibly say about this wonderful lady. She has been my best friend and confidant for over 50 years. No one could have wished for a truer friend, in all those years she never judged or criticised me, only listened and gave her opinion, whether it was right or wrong. She married Nigel, her childhood sweetheart, in May 1978 and went on to have three superb children who I love dearly and have the honour of being Godmother to Rebecca. We spent many happy years together through the summer months in Guernsey and Julie and Nigel in Coventry through the winter months. We used to get in trouble because we would go to football matches and would not stop talking all the way through. Never noticed any of the goals, we weren't interested in that. Our lives changed as our children grew but we still remained strong friends throughout. I would quite often surprise Julie and just turn up on her doorstep and did the same at her 50th Party, which she was not expecting as I now live in Spain and had only just spoke to her on the phone telling her to have a nice time. She fell to the ground with the shock when she saw me. Julie and I had the sort of friendship where we didnt need to speak every day or week, we could go months but when we spoke it was just as though it was yesterday. She never did get to surprise me - that was her plan when she had beaten that awful disease, unfortunately it wasn't to be. What can I say Julie, I will never have another friend like you and I will miss you forever. You put up such a brave fight you didnt deserve to die but at least you are now reunited with Nigel and your dad. Forever in my heart, Linda xxx
